Good Morning everyone. Roll, Central Banks, CPI, oh my! One of the toughest tasks for a trader is admitting when you don’t have an edge, whether it be for a day, a week, or longer – and still keeping an eye on the markets. I’ve traded in these types of markets multiple times, often to my dismay, but each time I learned something. Avoid trading roll over, especially during data-heavy weeks.
If you must, tread lightly and intelligently. If you can watch, wait, and commit to that mindset, you’re already ahead of other traders who are striving to transition into full-time trading. Futures markets aren’t designed for daily trading. They’re meant for those instances when you have a significant edge. When you don’t, they will deplete your resources until you grasp this lesson.
What makes players great in sports is that they spend ample time studying tape. So, when they are live in the game, they can slow things down while others are in a rush. I’ll be observing the tape today. Cheers, DELI
